Medical Benefits
As an eligible member, you have comprehensive health benefit options available to you and your family. On this page you will find information on the health plans offered by the Office of Group Benefits as well as information on eligibility. We encourage you to review the plans described on this website and the respective plan documents to make an informed decision on what plan is best for you.
Visit our benefits page for more information on eligibility, who can be enrolled as a dependent, and verification guidelines.
Over-Age Dependents or Continued Coverage
A covered child who is under age 26 and is, or becomes, incapable of self-sustaining employment may be eligible to continue health coverage as an over-age dependent. To maintain eligibility, the Office of Group Benefits must receive the required medical documentation verifying the child’s incapacity before the child reaches age 26.
Survivor Benefits Coverage
If you wish to continue your health coverage as a survivor, please complete the surviving dependent application that was mailed to you. Once completed, submit the application to OGB. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact OGB Customer Service at 1-800-272-8451. Please note that survivor benefits are subject to a recalculation of participation, and your premium will be determined based on the newly established participation rate.
COBRA
COBRA is offered to OGB health plan members who have been terminated due to employer lay-off, resignation, dismissal, retirement, or other qualifying events. Once the plan member is termed in the OGB system, an electronic file is sent to TASC, who sends the COBRA Specific Rights Notice Letter directly to the termed participants.
